Reign Breaks Losing Skid in Cincinnati!

Thee Toledo Reign found themselves in another dogfight in the 4th quarter, trying to stop a team charging down the field looking to force overtime. Unlike their last game in Kentucky, however, the Reign would make a big 4th and 1 stand to defeat the Cincinnati Sizzle 14-6.

The Reign (2-4) snapped a four-game losing streak by building a 14-0 lead at halftime. Kasey Clark connected with Jaime Spangler on the first drive of the game to give the Reign a 7-0 lead. Amanda Coressel found paydirt with a 34 yard touchdown run to push the lead to 14-0. The Reign defense was tested by the Sizzle's (0-6) 3-headed running attack all night, but they were up to the task. Anneliese Kolan (18 tackles, 4 for loss) and Marabeth Lewis (19 tackles, 2 for loss) led the defensive charge, while Amanda Coressel and Toya Pettaway picked off one Sizzle pass each providing timely turnovers.

The Reign will host the Derby City Dynamite in Camden, MI on June 9th with their playoff lives on the line. The Sizzle will host the winless Pittsburgh Force next weekend.
