First Place Showdown!

5/13/11: Coming strong out of the gate, Thee Toledo Reign find themselves in control of their own playoff destiny. This weekend will clear the playoff picture as the top teams in the North Central division clash in Toledo when the Reign host the Indy Crash.

The Reign (4-1) hold the best overall record in the North Central after their third shutout victory of the season last weekend 63-0 over the Dayton Diamonds. Last week was a return to form for the Reign rushing attack as they racked up 215 yards to push into 2nd overall with 1149 rushing yards on the year. The Reign defense continues to grind down opponents with 15 tackles for loss and two turnovers to push their turnover total to 17 for the season (6 interceptions, 13 fumble recoveries). The Reign will be put to the test this weekend against the North Central 1 leading Indy Crash.

The Crash (3-1) have won three in a row after dropping their season opener to the St. Louis Slam. The Crash have a very balanced offensive attack with 341 yards passing and 387 yards rushing on the season. The Crash have many weapons on both sides of the ball and their big-play capabilities make them a threat to go the distance every time they touch the ball.

Saturday May 14th is shaping up to be the biggest game for the Reign as members of the WFA. A clear path to the playoffs lies ahead but the Crash look to stake their claim on the North Central division title. Once again, anyone attending this Saturday's game in Reign gear will get $1 off the gate price. Make sure you're at Gallagher Stadium at 7pm this Saturday to cheer on the Reign in their final regular season home game of 2011 as they look to take a major step towards a division title!
